Self catering thatched holiday cottages, Malborough village between Salcombe, Hope Cove & Kingsbridge, South Devon |
Rose Thatch & End Cottage, Lower Town, Malborough, S Devon TQ7 3SQ
Location. End Cottage and Rose Thatch are in Malborough (above) , a picturesque village with two pubs (both serving good food), a well-stocked Co-op shop, a bistro, a church ( often referred to as 'the Cathedral of the South Hams' due to it's impressive size), a post office and a well used Village Hall and recreation ground. Situated in the heart of the beautiful South Hams district of South Devon, Malborough lies between the sailing centre of Salcombe and the market town of Kingsbridge. It is just one and a half miles from safe bathing beaches at Hope Cove, Soar Mill Cove, and South & North Sands, and the magnificent National Trust cliffs of Bolt Head.
Further afield, Malborough is no more than 40 minutes by car from the amenities of Torbay and Plymouth, the historic towns of Dartmouth and Totnes and the wild beauty of Dartmoor. A day out to visit the Eden project is perfectly possible.
Activities. End Cottage and Rose Thatch are ideal for days on the beach, for exploring the South Hams by foot, car or bicycle, and for sailing, golf, bird watching and horse riding. There are two steam railways nearby, caves to visit, and animal farms for the children. Leisure centres with swimming pools are available at Kingsbridge, Ivybridge and Plymouth. Whatever the weather, there is plenty to see and do.
